LZ1535 Erbium Glass Laser Transmitter

LZ1535-10Hz-4ns-100uJ-21mm

100 uJ at 10 Hz, 4 ns

100 uJ transmitter in the 21 mm body, balancing aperture and size. Passively Q-switched erbium glass gives a pulse with no tail, and the 1535 nm wavelength sits in the eye-safe band, so it can be used at far higher energy than a 905 nm source in the same application.

Estimated range

  • Retro-reflective target6.0 km
  • Diffuse terrain2.0 km

Range figures are engineering estimates for a matched-filter receiver, 36 mm receive aperture and 90 % optical efficiency. See the range equation article for the full derivation.
